Our Day

Just a few pictures from this morning.  Little Maddie has been fighting some upper respiratory issues.  After sleeping 14 hours last night, she is doing a lot better.  But, still laying around a bit - loving some computer time of her own.  :)

This weekend is going to be a big one for us.  Tomorrow night is the Father/Daughter dance through our homeschool organization.  We've bought a new dress.  :)  I'll be making lots of pictures!!  Then Sunday Newt Gingrich will be speaking at our church.  Rick Santorum was there last Sunday night.  I didn't go.   :(  Really wishing we had gone now, especially since we will be seeing Newt this weekend.  Our Music Minister asked our group to sing on Praise Team, so it's gonna be a looooong day for me.  Got rehearsal at 8am; service from 10:30-12:00, and Children's musical rehearsal from 12:30-3:30.  Shew!

Anyhooo.... here's today's pictures.  More from the weekend to follow!
Having a little computer time.

Becoming one of our new favorite spots for homework.

Just my sweet little pup!

Tumblin' Audrey

Tuesday was Audrey's last day of tumbling, so parents got to come in and observe.  She's working so hard to get her walk over.  She will get it!!  Sadly, Maddie was sick and missed her last class, so there's no video of her.  :(  They both start their Extreme Cheer class next week.  They're both so very excited!

Couponing

I tried my hand at some couponing today.  Nothing extreme.  But, I was proud of my $47 savings.  =)  Granted it was only a 20% savings, but it was a start.  Not sure what the savings were on the sale items.  I basically only bought what was on sale if I didn't have a coupon.  Considering I hadn't bought groceries in a few weeks, my $183 went a long way!  lol

President's Day

Had to share this sweet video of my girls saying The Pledge of Allegiance.  :)

Our Week in Pictures

Enjoying some beautiful spring like weather - in February!

Reading with my girls - Maddie wasn't happy because I was cutting her nails.  lol

Maddie making valentines in her preschool party.

Someone got into the make up  & nail polish while mommy was resting.

She said she wanted to "be fancy".  Love her!

Finally found a home for my shoe rack!  It is now part of my scrapbooking nook housing all of my cutters and punches.

100th Day of School

Today is our 100th day of school.  I'm not gonna lie - it started out a little rough.  My youngest daughter has recently started going through some relapses in her sleeping.  She gets up once or twice a night and tries to get in bed with us.  Honestly, after so many nights of not getting enough sleep, she has been coming in our room around 4-5:00 in the morning and I didn't even realize she was in my bed.  (Yikes!)  So, I made a conscience effort to break her of that - starting last night.  She came in my room at 3:15 am and I immediately took her back to her bed.  This turned into a meltdown, which in turn woke up her older sister.  I'll spare you all the details, but the short version is this:  From 3:15-4:45 AM!, one or both of the girls was crying.  Ugh!  We'd get one settled down and the other would start.  Nobody wanted to sleep in their own beds.  So, finally at 4:45, hubby said, "Forget it, everybody up!"  So, we all started our day at 4:45 am this morning.  It is now 1:45 in the afternoon and I'm starting to really feel the effects.  My body is exhausted.  My kids are getting cranky and picking at each other immensely.  We're going to try to make it to gymnastics class at 3:30 and then off to Nana's house for dinner (thank you, Nana, for the sweet invitation to dinner!).  I'm betting everybody will be asleep by 7:30 tonight!

Anyway - we still managed to pull out a couple of 100th Day of School projects.  Each of the girls made a picture of what they think they would look like at 100.  And, I did a little double duty with the second project - cleaning out old candy (helpful to me!) while sorting by 10's to 100.  :)  Enjoy!

Weather Workshop

Here are a few shots from our Field Trip today.  We went to Sawnee Mountain Preserve and attended a 2 hour Weather Workshop.  They learned about weather, temperature, clouds, fog, storms, etc.  They had several hands on projects.

Maddie didn't last very long.  She just wanted to play in the dirt.

Trying to figure out what kinds of clouds were out today.

Flying her kite they made.

Everyone flying their kites.
