I was terrified of speaking, even to people I knew well. Sometimes I still am and it comes across as snobby but that isn't it at all. I still battle with my shyness but realized that letting it win was causing me to miss out on a ton of opportunities and friendships. She is way to young to understand that though. I wish that my mom had found some sort of therapy for me. I wonder how different my life would be if someone had shown me that it's okay to talk to people and no one will laugh at me or think I'm stupid. <br />I think a good starting point might be to find a good book about shyness in children and see what suggestions they offer. It never hurts to mention it to her pediatrician either and see if suggests an evaluation with a medical professional. Big hugs to you sweet Audrey.
